This process started on the 20th, when my spiritual group had our Yule celebration. We had a nice ritual, this time focusing on sun goddesses. We passed the boar for oaths and the horn for toasts, boasts, and tales of the past year. We sang a couple of carols, the paganized versions. We did the gift exchange thinge where everyone draws a number -- no stealing this year, and the gifts were good. (Though I don't know exactly what I'm going to do with a set of Blum's runes and the book that goes with it, as I don't use rune stones)
Then yesterday I did the family thing with my Step-mom's family. We're down to drawing names now, and this makes things far easier, both in the buying side of things and in the distribution of presents. I finally got a copy of The Joy of Cooking on CD-ROM. This is a highly good thing. I also got a steamer to replace my busted one. And I got a lot of small things in my stocking. (Well, in this case, more of a large gift bag)
Then this morning I had the celebration with my Dad and brother and their spouses and etc. I got five DVD's I've been wanting, including two of the ones from my stolen list.My sister in law also gave me a new wallet, which is good since my old one was falling seriously apart and was close to death. And I also managed to get, across the two stocking groups, a decent amount of chocolate. This is definitely a good thing, as chocolate is proof the universe loves us.
So, now I'm done with the running around. I have the party on Saturday, but other than that, I have lots of time to work in the studio.
Here's hoping everyone had a great Yule/Christmas/Holiday season/Whatever.
