Small Victories
Mar. 15th, 2006 11:12 amFirst off, happy birthday Ainaguar. Living to another one is always a victory against the wages of life on this planet.
Yesterday, the roomie and I went to my storage space. You know those big containers you see on the back of trains and trucks? Well, they only cost a couple of grand, and one of the companies my dad has has one out back, where we store our stuff. I've got two pallets of boxes in there, most of them filled with books. We went over there to dig through them and see what was there.
First off, I've pretty much determined that the box of CD's and the box of records and laserdiscs are both not there. They were most likely stolen. This sucks, as I have several CD's that I was looking for that I was hoping were there, and my big boxed set of Star Wars (the original trilogy, not the sucky one) was in there as well. There were also some rather rare records there too, which sucks. But, my badge-aminit box was there. I thought it was stolen, and finding it was a nice little victory. I also found my can of Cramolin R-5, which is simply the best cleaner for pots and knobs in the world. (forget WD-40, as this stuff actually protects instead of just making things slippery) I have some scratchy pots on my amps in my room, so this is exactly what I needed to find.
I have several boxes to go through now, as soon as we get them out of the car, so I'll be busy for the rest of the week. I know this is a strange way to spend spring break, but I really have been trying to unclutter my life a lot more so that my next move in fourteen months is less of a headache. And I'm trying to get an early start on this, because when I'm moving I'll also be graduating, which means my attention will be very occupied around then.
I'm thinking of making up buttons for CMA this year, so I'd appreciate any good ideas. I hope to have them for sale, and any that I decide are worth making, I'll give the originator of the idea one. Since I have both larger sizes of button parts, don't limit yourself to the two and a quarter inch size if an idea won't fit on that size.
