UTA has turned me down for the music education graduate program. They said that my letters of reccomendation don't indicate a direction and aptitude in that area. That's the official story, at least. Everyone I've told this to has other theories about it, and they all seem to match.
This is a major blow. I guess a 3.62 GPA isn't enough to get someone in. Now I'm going to have to start looking in other directions for a program. And the big problem with this is that there are no other real good options in the DFW area unless that new UNT campus down in Oak Cliff has some graduate programs in education. I'm looking at the possibility of moving to Denton, or even worse, Commerce. Ugh.
Plus, this means that I will also probably have to take the GRE, which is a nightmare for the blind.
This sucks. I need to be in grad school because I can't afford to live withoutthe financial aid right now with the roommate out of work.
This will also impact several other plans as well.
This will take a lot of deep thought to figure out. I'm going to start on it Friday after I finish my classes for the semester. This is rather late to start looking into grad programs, but I guess I need to get busy and get several applications off quickly.
