The ice chest method didn't work. Windows 2k server finds the drive, but for some reason the next drive in line can't be found properly, and since it's a spanned drive across four physical drives, it won't mount the drive. I'm going to have to pop fifty bucks for a drive recovery program to get things salvaged again. That drive has all kinds of things on it, like all my technical writing, my entire music archive including things ripped from cassettes and vinyl, and huge amounts of documents.

Today has been a rather mellow day, all told. I've managed to keep on a fairly even keel, and I got a chance to review the writing on a novel I'm working on. It's about 200 pages in Word, double spaced, about fifty five thousand words total. (I wish someone would give me an accurate total for the number of words on a standard hardback or paperback page -- I've seen many figures but none of them agree) This is my longest work to date, and I like the story, apart from the obvious fact that the main character is pretty much me in a different universe. (different life details, but similar approach to life)

I brought another group of people into the big picture today of what's going on with me, this time it was my Pathways mailing list. I've gotten one response so far, positive. I'm hoping for more from them.

I'm on an even keel today. The peace I asked for in the ritual is upon me, and it's nice to feel okay with the world.

I started filling out the application today for SMU, with the help of the roommate. I still need some things from UTA, and I need to do an updated resume, get a list of awards and honors, and compile a list of things I've written that have had some distribution. (Mostly educational materials and one published short story) I'll knock that stuff out this weekend and get with people to get my letters of recommendation filled out, then I'll be ready to submit it next week. Then next Friday on the way to Warlord I'm going to stop by A&M Commerce to request transcripts, and the following week I'll get by UNT and DCCCD. Then, after that is done, it's time to start working on the credit and locating a house, along with sending out submission letters for selling more short fiction to magazines. So there is a plan.

3.675. With my degree done, I managed to end the entire twenty three year process with that as my GPA. I'm mostly satisfied with the grades for this semester, and the one that annoys me I'm not going to let get to me. I'm done with that place as soon as possible, so I'm not going to stress on it anymore. That's still Magna cum Laude. I'm good with that.
