1. Keep perspective. Just because you have the ability, knowledge, and understanding to see things on a different level than other people doesn’t make you any better than anyone else. Doesn’t make you any worse than anyone else either, we all have different Dharma and our paths are different for a reason. Don’t let your apparent ability to work on a different level than those who have their sight focused elsewhere swell your ego or feed some kind of power trip.
2. Don’t hit everything with the same hammer assuming it’s all a nail. Not everything that happens has a metaphysical reason, and blaming every pitfall on a “Psychic attack” is a sure sign that you’ve got your head in the clouds and need a visit from the clue fairy. Look for mundane answers to problems first, and then look for metaphysical reasons to back it up only if there’s a good reason to.
3. Work on the appropriate level. If you need a job, burning a candle is no substitute for shopping your resume and pounding the pavement. There’s nothing wrong with burning the candle, but it’s not going to do the job by itself. Use every resource to fix a problem or bring about change; don’t just rely on the metaphysical to do everything for you.
4. Don’t take yourself too seriously. The moment you start thinking that you’re something special, you’re missing the point. Other people may tell you you’ve got something special going on, but that’s not really important either. If you’re here, you still have work to do, and it’s best to not let what you or anyone else thinks of you distract you from the path.
5. Remember that everything you’re told is for you, and possibly too much for someone else. Again, we’re all on separate paths, and there just might be a reason you know something someone else doesn’t. This is especially true for things gotten from channeling, journeying, or divination. This is especially true if you’re asking about someone else, as they might be better off without the information.
6. Before you ask for anything, ask if you can handle it. A lot of times, we ask for things that can royally mess things up. It’s always best to make sure you can handle what you’re asking for before you ask for it. Remember the old saying, “You deserve to get what you ask for.”
7. Remember to share. When you get good things in life, remember to share them, and especially if they’re the result of your metaphysical awareness. This ability and power isn’t just yours, it belongs to everyone, and you’re just in a position to access it right now.
8. Be patient. You’ve got all the time you need to do things and move forward, and trying to rush things will just stress you out and potentially botch things. (This is a function of wave mechanics, and it has the potential to quickly cancel out what you’re working on) Detach, relax, and let things work.
9. Remember you’re on the Earth for a Reason. It’s too easy to talk down the physical plane when you’re capable of working in other realms, but this plan of existence has benefits that are unique to it. (Sushi and Greek Food are jut two examples) Use this plane as much as you use the others, and revel in the benefits it has to offer.
10. Don’t let your head take over. It’s possible to learn a lot of things, and many of those things can be very useful. But none of those things can replace your intuition. If something doesn’t feel right, no matter how much written evidence there is, look for a different answer.
11. Learn multiple ways to do the same thing. This isn’t reinventing the wheel, it’s learning all the routes to a given destination so that if one is blocked others will work. This also helps you understand the big picture in things because you can start to see common threads from the different ways things can be done, and it also helps to limit closed minded thinking.
12. Take Time to Laugh. It is possible to get very serious about these things, and many times it’s not that serious a deal. Don’t take yourself or your “mission” too seriously, because things aren’t quite that serious most of the time. Also, remember not to overcomplicate things, as they’re usually better done or solved with the simplest answer possible.
13. Don’t isolate yourself. It’s so easy when you have so many spirit guides, totems, angels, ascended masters, gods, Orishas, and friends outside the physical to focus all your interactions there. Don’t do it, as it’s not healthy, and you’re missing the point. Have lots of friends. And remember, students, supporters, and other “minions” aren’t the same as peers, and you need people who you’re on a peer level with to keep growing. There’s nothing as frustrating as trying to work out something and having to spend forty five minutes to an hour explaining it to someone because they’re not as well versed as you in it, and often the moment of inspiration or epiphany is gone by that point, so make sure you have friends you can talk to who are as advanced or more so than you are in the topics you’re interested in. And also make sure you have friends who are interested in things you aren’t, because they often have answers from their studies that you’d never even dream of on your own.
