Decorating
Mar. 15th, 2008 06:09 pmWell, I just ordered the perfect picture for the game room. We'll get the movie posters for Duck Soup, Sea Hawk, and Chaplin's The Kid up, and we have the frame so when C.M. Coolidge's classic print of Dogs Playing Poker arrives it'll go up easily. Now I just need four chairs for the room and I'll be set, though I was hoping to also find a print of Cats Shooting Pool. (My search Fu failed me on that count)
Anyone know where i can find four reasonably comfortable chairs to go around the game table for cheap? I could also use an inexpensive recliner for in there as well. These few things and the room will be nice and cozy, and then I can worry about finishing up the studio and also working on getting the stuff for the living room. (I need a sofa, area rug, and something to put the stereo and TV on in there, preferably long and short enough to hold a decent sized flat screen at some point)
We'll have the roll-top desk together this weekend too, with the banker's lamp, basket of ivy, and mirror above it so that it's ready. We need to pick up the matching filing cabinet and chair and my piano stool from my brother soon so that the entry area is finished. I'm hoping that the desk, with it's drawers and cubbies and such, will become the repository for mail that comes into the house.
I got the pictures up in my room, too. I need to put up a half round glass shelf, hang the two smaller pictures, hang the printer's tray, and both "green man" masks, then the decoration in my room will be mostly done too. Then we have pictures to hang in the studio, living room, and something to hang in the entry hall.
I also need a computer desk style chair for the studio. I can go and buy one like I'm using at my computer now, but I'm hoping to get out of this a bit cheaper if I can.
