On the Other Side
Jan. 28th, 2010 04:56 pmOkay, I'm in the new place. Slept there last night, in fact.
A quarter or so of my stuff, including all my living room furniture, is still in Denton. We'll get the rest of it this weekend. I've mostly dug out of the boxes the movers put in the wrong rooms. (The person directing them was at fault in this)
I'm now without a bed. I need a queen sized bed to sleep on at this point. My king was eighteen years old, and it was also too big for the room here, so I had it dragged off by the city.
I'm going to have a sale where I divest myself of a rolltop desk, filing cabinet, (both all wood) matching desk chair, and matching coat rack, along with a brass headboard and footboard, a couple of barstools, and at least one fridge. If anyone here needs or wants any of these things, let me know and I'll let you know what I'm selling them for.
The kitchen is small. The cabinet space is tiny. So I'm having a bit of a headache finding good places for everything in it. The plan is to do a kitchen remodel when I go down to CMA. Then all that will be left is the studio.
The Den isn't done right now, but that should happen in the next few weeks. The washroom is getting done this week. This means that I'll be ready to start work on the studio as soon as the garage is emptied, which may take a while -- it's packed with other people's stuff. My hope is to move a lot of my musical gear into the shop room with plans to convert it into the control room of the studio at some soon point.
In other news, I had a nearly critical sugar crash yesterday. It wrecked me for most of the day, and dropped my temperature to 94.1 -- I never thought my body temprature would hit the call letters of a local Christian radio station.
Well, back to work. At least thee first part of this is done and I'm here.
