And another one bites the dust. Insert adages about how years accelerate and all that as you prefer.
This was the first year of being a homeowner again, and it's been a fun year in that respect. But I have a rather unusual definition of fun sometimes. That said I managed to get the house before the clock ran out on 2012, so this year I got all of the exemptions and revaluation done. This fall has been hit with a lot of weather, with rain, snow, and tree limbs falling, but nothing has hit the house or the vehicles.
It was a bumper year for writing tests, with a lot of deadlines there. This feeds my drive toward instructional design, so it's rewarding.
No demisement of friends this year. No romantic entanglements either -- I still don't trust myself to make good decisions.
A lot of metaphysical insight this year, though, with some interesting understanding coming from situations and processes, and I'd gotten back to meditating and working on stuff including some shamanistic work.
Still the same roommate -- neither of us have killed each other yet, and we manage to get along even with fairly different personalities.
Gaming is happening -- I'm in a semi-regular first edition AD&D game and I was playing in a Rolemaster game for a wile there through email. Both were/are fun. I've given notice at the magazine I helped found, as they're doing well and I'm an implementer, not an administrator, so it's time for me to move on. I have a couple of magazine ideas I'm thinking about, along with some music ideas.
I released about 50 pounds last year, and I feel better for it. I still have more i want to let go of, but I'm being rational about how I do it.
No music project this year -- I want to try to move toward solving that next year if possible -- with gaming and a musical project I can probably get the level of social interaction I want.
Life is stable right now, and I'm just trying to keep it so while I work on various projects and try to get them moving forward, like the studio, some large scale pagan art music works, and the constant effort of maintaining a home.
Hope all is going well for y'all, and happy new year.
What goals for next year? Drop more unwanted body mass. Submit writing to potential markets. Enjoy life.
