Fourteen?

I just got back from CMA Samhain. I had a blast. So the Drummers Society meeting had no participation, and one of my classes didn't make. I still had a great time.

I'm giving up on taking food. I'm going to start subsidizing the ice for the Merchant Kitchen Witches, and that way I can eat well and still not have to mess with cooking or carting food down there anymore. I never wind up eating like I should, and so I definitely need to just have someone handle the food preparation and be done with it.

The Great Works meeting got interesting when it came to light that Bran and Maeven were tied for Director. So, they called a runoff. Another tie. Some discussion was made about  having them act as co-directors, but I had serious reservations about that after some comments made earlier about some difficulties they had in working together in the past. Then Maeven came out and removed herself from the field. That was, in my book, a very very classy move, and I respect her greatly for it. Furthermore, she was only running because she wants to streamline and document the processes of CMA, and that is somethng she can do out of the director's chair. (I had a nice chat with Maeven while she was giving me a ride back to Rainbow camp.)

The festival again went out of their way to get me around and make sure that I had a good time with a minimum of problems with my blindness. It was, in short, a great event made even better by the constant help I got in getting around. Due to the shoestring nature of the event, there was only one golf cart, and Matthew the medic rented it on his own money for medical issues.

The county was under a burn ban, but the county judge issued a court order allowing us to burn carefully monitored fires.

The GLBT ritual went well. Many said it was a truly memorable experience.

I can't wait for Beltaine, though I'm feeling some unusual Beltain-y energy right now, and I'm nnot sure where it's coming from.

My friend, Cuts Inside (check out her journal) had a great, transformative time. There was one little incident, on the way home, but she handled it well and showed a lot of self awareness and understanding of how she had to handle things for her own mental health, and I'm proud of her for doing things the way she did.

Oh, and when the write-in ballots were counted for the "director at large" position, which isn't an official CMA position, there were five people who had fourteen votes each. Kinda weird.
