Devastated
Nov. 12th, 2005 09:31 amNapoleon and I woke up this morning. Josi didn't.
She was coughing a lot last night, and I was concerned, but I couldn't do anything. The roommate's car is yet again broken, so taking her to an emergency vet was out of the question. When I woke up and called the dogs to go outside, she didn't move, and then I noticed the bed was damp under her and she was stiff.
I'm devastated. She was a noisy little girl, and she definitely had her idiosyncracies, but she was also very sweet and definitely cute. She had a bark so loud th you could hear it outside the house, and her chest was so deep that when she barked, she bounced from the force of it. She was also a snuggle pup, and she'd sit in your lap for hours, licking you. (I once counted five hundred licks. I was bored, and obviously she was too.)
I don't like to make dogs live alone, but right now I can't think about a companion for Napoleon. I just need to find a vet, morn the lost of a friend I've known since she was a tiny puppy nine years ago, and deal with the pain.
