This was inspired by a conversation with a dear friend. (You know who you are) It's one of the One hundred word flash fiction pieces I'm experimenting with.

Sandra stepped back from the church door, breathing through her mouth. Matches struck, igniting gasoline and kerosene she’d placed carefully. As she watched the blaze, she thought about the hate, judgment, and hypocrisy that came from the building. She thought of false sincerity, the vile gossip of the supposedly “good Christian women,” and the heinous deeds done by their men.

Watching from her car, she thought to herself, “Daddy always said the Holy Ghost told him I’d come back to the church. Looks like the Holy Ghost was right. And Damn, that Holy Ghost has a twisted sense of humor.”
