I contend that Arlington is the stupidest city in the world. It's te largest city without mass transit in the United States. There aren't even frackin' sidewalks on many of the streets, and getting a pothole fixed can take, literally, decades. And they gave a bunch of money to a rich guy to build a stadium.

The latest came down the pipe today. Parks Maul has managed to completely kill Forum 303 Maul, and Six Flags Maul, (I'm spelling it that way on purpose, I know the proper spelling of Mall) is hanging on by a thread.

so, just east of the Parks Maul, they're breaking ground on a Nine hundred thousand square foot maul that should be ready in about a year. WTF? Parks has damned near everything that a maul can need, so now they're building an even bigger monstrosity next to it? Have they ever heard of Prestonwood Mall, and what happened thanks to the Ghonnerea and the refit of Valley View so close?

One more year, and I'm out of here like a churchmouse on speed. It's sad when Irving looks appealing. At least it has mass transit, sidewalks, and restaurants where the owners actually work there instead of being a part of some chain. (I find that independents tend to have better food and service if they've managed to survive) The only reason I'll set foot in this city again after graduation is to see a friend or to visit Star India, the one example of first rate cuisine in the entire city I've managed to find that i can't get anywhere else.
