What is up with these? They don't do anything on my system, but they sure hose out LJ, making it impossible for me to get past them to read what came before them. It's highly strange, and somewhat annoying.

It sounds like you might not have Flash Player installed. Here's what the LJ FAQ's say about the Voice Posts. I'm giving you the URL after what the FAQ says.

How do I play or transcribe a voice post?
Most voice posts display with a Flash player that allows you to play the voice post directly in the entry. However, you can also click the "VoicePost" link to download the file and play it with your computer's software. Additionally, the "Transcribe" link allows authorized users to post a written transcription.

Well, I have flash turned off, because it's a pain for screen readers -- the constant updating pulls everything back to the flash window, making it impossible to do anything. But when I didn't have it turned off it still did this, and it's annoying. Everything below the voice post is gone. No previous entry link or the other stuff, nothing. It's highly annoying, and I'm starting to hate the bloody things.
