The Origin of Love

nyykiSo, in the beginning the Divine created existence so that it could grow. It wanted to experience interaction, change, life and death, lots of things. There might have been better ways to do this, but this one worked well enough. But the people were developing too fast, and creation was moving at too quick a pace. Also, the Divine wanted to give people more challenges to face to increase their experience, and thereby its own. So it thought long and hard. Then it came up with an answer.
By taking a portion of the feeling that reunion with the divine caused, and giving it to mortal thinking creatures, it caused these creatures to become deeply obsessed with each other. This caused all kinds of growth, as people worked through their differences and learned how to live with someone else in close proximity. The resulting disorder also slowed development on spiritual growth, as it provided a great distraction from one's own development as now another person was intimately involved with the process. And the Divine was pleased, for thinking creatures were no longer so easily made great.
And that part of the divine experience that people got when connecting with each other? That was called love. And with the headyness of the experience, thinking creatures were duped into thinking and feeling that it was a good thing.
