2008 Retrospective

nyykiIt wasn't a bad year, it just wasn't all that good of one either.
The good: back in school, got moved out of a city I deeply hate and to one I like much better, made several new friends, and moved into a place that was considerably larger than the postage stamp I was living in. Also distanced myself from several friends who weren't a positive influence in my life, and got a functional metaphysical group working again.
The not so good: Spent two trips in the hospital totalling about three weeks, incurring about a thousand bucks out of pocket for me. Had to deal with a rather nasty roommate, and spent a good part of the year getting the studio working. (It just got finally finished today) Constantly had to move goals around, and I generally feel less secure in being sure that I'll get things I need done done because the people I'm around are slightly less reliable than in the past. It was also a year with absolutely no dates and a solid twelve months of celibacy.
So there are some things I'd like to see come into my life this coming year, and it should be an interesting one. Of course, the first of Murphy's Military Laws is that no battle plan survives contact with the enemy. So I'll just remain flexible and see how things go. After all, expectations decrease joy.
