I broke my former record today. In working on Spy Vs. Spy, I managed to go from nothing recorded to completion in just over three hours. I was quite surprised, as it also has a lot of spy music references in it, which I thought would take a while.
So, I decided to use the extra time to get to work on more conversions to the new setup. I now have the entire bands sub-directory converted to current standards. That leaves Art, Craft, Jazz, Others, Popular, and SCA_REN to do. I was surprised at the progress, but it was one of those things where the other directories weren't as complex as the Evidence directory I worked on yesterday, so things went much faster.
Last night I also looked over the Gypsy Heir press kit, and copied it for Evidence. I know a lot of things will need changing when the personell changes, but for now, I've started getting the basics in place. I hope to have a lot of things worked out as we go along, and I have detailed lists of things that need doing to make this all come off like it should.
One little surprise, though. Obligations is just a shell, not a sequence, so I'm going to have to add it to the list. But there's things to help me with that one, since I have a recording of the song and can figure out what goes on in it pretty easily, so I'm hoping it won't take that much time to work out
I also did some looking at the stuff in the lyric files, and decided that instead of my original idea of peppering the songs of Spider Web all over different albums I'm going to just turn them into a concept album instead. This allows me to move my four part Rock mini-opera, Winter Heart, to the Crimes of Passion album. I've managed to reconstruct that album with the five songs pulled from it, and I'll need to write two more songs for Spider Web, but those shouldn't be too bad, all told. Both are duet songs.
So, another productive day. I need to start posting ads, though to find musicians for the albums I want to put out later this year. Hopefully tomorrow's sequencing stuff will go quickly so I can have time to work on that.
