A Rare Thing

It's true, I don't write it much. I like writing my own characters most of the time, but every once in a while something will catch me and I find myself writing something with someone else's characters. And in very rare cases I'll write a continuation.

So here's New Blood, a crossover fic over on AO3. I've got a third one in the works, but it'll take some research to get it out, and I've had other things drawing my attention lately. Hope you enjoy it.

I am also still interested to hear about your health and fitness regimen, to see if I can adapt it to my secular needs.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around setting up a community and if I can do an effective job administrating said community with my disabilities. But I want to get that rolling.

this is a total mood! i love the idea of fanfic, but I am incredibly picky as both a writer and a reader; I often wish i could have the sort of free form fun that others seem to be having, but nope. FanSnob, alas, I remain

Yep. Lanalucy wrote a lot of it when she was rooming here, and we ran ideas back and forth on some of her concepts. It was a powerful creative exercise, even though she didn't tend to use my suggestions much. (And I tended not to use her suggestions either in my non-fic work, but what she'd suggest triggered other ideas I went with, and she told me she had the same experience) Creativity building like this has wonderful results and opens up the mind so much if the creative person can let the ego defenses demilitarize and treat creativity as a process instead of an entitlement or gift. I contend that creativity isn't a talent, it's a muscle. Buff for best results.

I've got more New Blood in the works, and also a BSG/Longmire crossover with one section finished and another needing a bit more. (the Longmire books, as I haven't listened to the shows yet, but thank you so much Netflix for adding descriptive for the three A&E seasons) But this represents about eight years of output, while my other stuff is several thousand pages in the same time period.
