One MOre Sleep
Oct. 19th, 2005 06:28 pmOne of my best friends referrs to the time to a treasured event in how many sleeping periods are between it and now. It's a thing her family does, with statements like "Three more sleeps till christmas morning) and the like.
There is one more sleep before I head off to CMA Samhain. I put in two requests for classes I'm teaching on drumming, as well as the society meeting for the Drummers and Dancers society.
E and M came by a few minutes ago and took the dreaded watchbeasts with them for a "sleepover" for the dogs. It's going to be weird without Napoleon and Josi sleeping next to me tonight. M's mother has been wanting a small dog, so she'll get a chance to see what living with two Pomeranians (the most noble of beasts) is like. Of course, Josi is a true soprano (enamoured with her own voice) so the neighborhood should be rather active when she's in the yard. Josi is also rather twisted -- when I was staying with Meghann a while back, Josi liked to entertain herself by getting the min pins wound up next door by running back in forth along the fence, and then she'd run them into the gas meter in the neighbor's yard to see them smacking themselves senseless trying to chase her. Rumor has it M's neighbors have a shih tzu, so this could get entertaining.
Clothes are packed. Drum stuff is packed. The inflaterator is charging. Bob is stillpacked from the last event. directions are printed, eticket is printed, shopping list is done, and just needs to be bought. Even the packing list is ready. (I always do a packing list. it makes life much simpler.) I will burn travel CD's tonight, and then I need to run to the grocery store, and soon after that, everything will be done. (oh, yeah, got to get the deli slicer down to cut up my turkey and ham for the trip. Don't worry, I'm getting someone else to do that. Last thing I want is to sever a finger right before an event.) One more sleep to go.
