Staying Connected?

I had to toss my cookies, and now I can't seem to keep a persistent connection to LiveJournal anymore. Every time I come back to my friends page, I'm not logged in and have to go log in again. The stay connected check box is gone, and I'm not sure how to make this machine stay connected to LJ all the time now. It's annoying.

Anyone got any clues?
