What I'm Reading Lately
Jun. 10th, 2010 10:58 pmThe current book I'm listening to is a history of the alphabet. Interesting stuff, to know how the fundamentals of our language evolved. I'm working through this one slowly.
Interspersed with that I'm listening to a few books on musical topics. The first one was "Kind of Blue: The making of a Miles Davis Masterpiece." Quite interesting to find out how those sessions went down. Then I listened to "Confessions of a REcord Producer" by Moses Abraham. That was a real eye opener, as it covers all the scams and sneaky tricks the labels use on people. It also covered things like if the industry lost all that money due to piracy and did an analysis of a contract. I feel much more enlightened now.
I've got a couple more to listen to soon, but for now I'm focusing on the alphabet book. I'm on the letter L so far, one of the most sensual letters.
