I'm listening to "This is Your Brain on Music," and the author had to demonstrate rock music in only six songs. That got me to thinking, what six would I use?
1. Roll Over Beethoven -- Chuck Berry
2. You've Got to Hide Your Love Away -- The Beatles
3. All Along the Watchtower -- Bob Dylan, played by Jimi Hendrix
4. Nights in White Satin -- The Moody Blues
5. I Wanna Be Sedated -- The Ramones
6. Walking in LA -- Missing Persons
There are a lot of others I'd love to put in there, like Zappa, ELP, Duran Duran, and Porcupine Tree, but with only six I have to hit the high points.
What would y'all use if someone asked you to do this?
