WTF is going on?

ONe close friend lost his job. Another is facing losing hers. Yet another friend is fed up with his and needing to get a change fast before the company is run into the ground. Yet another close friend went through a roller coaster about his graduation, finally getting it resolved.
Another person, whom I still consider a friend, had her family explode a couple of weeks ago. This is not the only family to blow up that I've heard of lately, as a new friend is facing this as well.
Okay, now, time for the medical stuff. A close friend of mine just got out of the hospital with a blood clot behind the knee. My roommate's father is in the rehab center after getting out of the hospital a day or so ago. Her boyfriend is also in the hospital, with either a blood clot in his lung or a pulmonary embolism. They're doing an MRI tomorrow on him to see which, but it is very dicey. I have a really bad feeling about the last one.
Something is up, and I'd like to know what it is.
