Subverting the Matchmaker Sites
May. 30th, 2007 09:37 amDiscovered this little way around pay matchmaker sites.
First, create a user name that is unique. Google it to make sure there are no matches. Next, create an account on all the pay matchmaker sites using it. Then, also create a LJ account and several other accounts using it, and post to several newsgroups using an email account with that as the profile. If you don't use Yahoo for your mail, also create a yahoo account and use it for an AIM account name. Then, run Trillian or Miranda or another Meta-messenger program with the accounts loaded.
Now, google yourself again, and you should find the account showing up. Now, you're ready. Anyone who is slightly web savvy will get around to searching your info out, and this will lead them directly to you. You can also use the same methodology to find people you match with. And the best thing about this is that it's free while you still get the benefit of using their matching service program to find compatible matches.
This seems to work, too, because I seem to have found someone very interesting using this little method. It's just at the getting to know each other and having fun stage, but it's cool to actually snuggle with someone again.
