The main machine is back among the living. The new machine is a P4 3.4GHz machine with 4GB of RAM. I pulled the 330GB drive out of the server, too, because I bought 2 1TB drives for it. (One is defective, so instead of sending it back, I saved Tran Computer the effort and RMA'd it directly to Western Digital) I'm getting everything back on the machine and running correctly, so life is happy again. I don't have to use my laptop as my main duty machine anymore.
I went to a Day of the Dead celebration on Saturday. I created a shadow box for Josi with a lot of help, and it's pretty cool, according to people who saw it. A fitting memorial for such a cool dog.
I took care of advising for Spring today, too, so I'll move on to more things next semester. I'm looking for the end of 2008. These 1 years are a beating to get through.
Voted the other day, too. I seriously doubt any of my friends have any question as to who I voted for. I'm concerned about the level of emotion that is starting to pop up in this country over politics, though. I remember not too long ago when a political disagreement was one of individual differences, but it seems like now political disagreements stem from the belief that someone who belives otherwise is not only wrong, but also morally corrupt and furthering the cause of evil in the world. This polarization isn't healthy. Many things about this election cycle have deeply disgusted me, though. I'm looking forward to it all being over.
I'm taking guitar lessons now. Since I won't be able to take the guitar lessons at school until next fall, I'll have a year of independent study, on my dime, to work through things and get to where I can play the instrument. I hope to go in with some real skills when I take it at school.
I'm finally catching up from the time in the hospital. Just a couple more things to get done, then I'm current with classwork.
I think that's pretty much it. Hope everyone is doing well.
