Thoughts on Energy

nyykiEnergy is an interesting thing to think about. It's the fundamental component of just about everything, and the way it moves about and forms things provides the basis for just about any type of work on the physical plane. (Not surprising, since the motion of energy is fundamental to the science of Physics, and the word "Physical" directly means something displaying the properties outlined in Physics)
Oh, and this may get a bit long.
Nyyki's first truth about existence: All reality is actually energy.
Let's take a single example. Why do people act like their Zodiac signs? Why do some people act more like that and some barely exemplify their sign at all? This is about energy and one's aptitude in dealing with it. There's a musical analogy that works in this.
Imagine a constant tone buzzing in the room. It's too loud to ignore.
Some people will curse it, yell, get frustrated, and leave the room. Some will try to overpower it with music or other noise. Some will put in earplugs in an attempt to ignore it. (So that when they take the earplugs out it sounds louder to them) And then there are others who will either play music that compliments the tone or even write their own music to use the tone the environment is providing them. And then there is a very small group who knows enough to take the tone, shift it 180° out of phase, and cancel it out.
That's how energy work is handled by different groups of people, depending on their experience and approach to life.
To plug this in to the Astrology topic, what people get from their planets and such are the energies of the multiple signs that influence them through those planets and other placements. So it's not that someone is like their sign, only that their sign is influencing them to act like the stereotype of their sign. Someone with enough energy expertise can work with that energy.
Now, for something fairly important.
Energy Expertise is not a foregone part of the multi-life evolutionary process. It is a decision someone makes for several lifetimes to gain enough skill to work with it well.
You may need to re-read that again, because the contrary is something that is assumed by a lot of people but isn't the case. I've known people who are still working on mental stuff in their life who can throw energy around like a certain former New York Politician threw around pictures of himself in very little concealment. I've met people who were clearly very advanced spiritual people who had no aptitude at all for this kind of stuff. As such, this is not a place for ego to get in the way. How well someone works with energy isn't a factor in how spiritually advanced they are -- it's technique, not spirit, that is at work here.
Why isn't it a part of the development of a soul?
Because energy expertise isn't required to do what most souls want to do in their journey from part of the IS to their return, enriched with experience, to that same IS. It is needed mostly for those who are looking to concern themselves with bigger things, like the human condition, negative entities, and such. In other words, it's something more of interest to the soul on the bodhisaatva path -- one that desires to help out others on their road.
Note also one other little thing said above: This kind of aptitude takes lifetimes to develop to a usable level. No one is going to get good at it in just one lifetime. It takes a long while. So if you aren't that good at it, don't get all angsty about it -- just keep working and do that again next lifetime and several after that. And if you need to do something know what allies to call on that can do the stuff you need to get done and let them do the heavy lifting. There is nothing wrong with doing this. (Remember the post I made a while ago about the basics -- Know your limitations) I'm pretty sure that the time you didn't spend working on energy work got used for something else that you can do so much better than the energy experts do. (Another one of the basics -- shackle your ego)
What goes for Astrology goes for all kinds of other stuff, too. In fact, just about every interface into the Akashic Records (all the divination forms, for example) are just different ways to access the energy flow. Color majik, candle majik, Feng Shui, and all of that type of stuff also is just energy work. And of course manifestation and spells are both forms of energy work. All three of the forms of magic (Sympathetic, Ceremonial, and Ki) are energy systems. So it permeates everything people do with their focus and such.
Also remember from your science classes that energy is simply either electrons, protons, neutrons, and very rarely positrons and negons. This means that matter is just energy that started a monogamous (in the case of hydrogen) or polyamorous partnership with compatible particles. (And of course, all of them are vibrating, which proves that music is the most important thing in the universe) So even the matter around us is energy, working in harmony (or disharmony in the case of radioactive elements and isotopes) in the universe.

Date: 2011-06-17 04:53 pm (UTC)I'm always aware of energy, and became more aware of earth energy after some experiences with certain places that have a tone and character of energy very different from that where I live. There are places whose energy draws me in, some of them not generally all that interesting other than that they're energy focal points. I've also often noticed that the differences I feel in local earth energy seem to shape the personalities and culture of the people who live in those places. (New York and London are particularly good examples .. actually going to both places totally changed my understanding of the people who live there.) It's unbelievably powerful compared to the effects we have on energy, but it's so ubiquitous that people who don't travel much don't notice it because it's always there. And I've found my thoughts are driven by energy changes whenever I'm driving or riding anywhere, and I've had thought processes stall out when I stop at red lights, only to begin flowing again once I'm moving again.
The matter around us is indeed energy. Einstein dropped hints along the way of mass-energy equivalence, and thanks to Feynman, mass-energy equivalence has been directly demonstrated in QCD at least in the structure of the proton, enough that I find it very easy to believe that matter is ultimately made up only of infinitely (and fractally) complex vibrations of energy. I've heard physics being grossly misapplied in some explanations of this, but I also believe there's truth there among the false paths of understanding. And I know our understanding of the infinitely complex reality we belong to will never be complete, and in fact, we can only know the tiniest fraction of that reality .. and that allows for unimaginable ways in which our souls might be connected to the energy we're a part of in ways that allow us to be moved and shaped by it, and with discipline and awareness, move it and shape it ourselves in return.
I think you're absolutely right that all those things you describe are energy work. I consider them simply tools to focus concentration, some of which work for me better than others, but often I find myself interacting with energy in ways that aren't part of any of those systems. That interaction takes a number of forms I couldn't possibly describe in words. I don't know if that makes me an advanced energy worker or not, but given that I've seen effects of it here and there, I suppose it means something at least. I do have the feeling that I've been at this for a fairly large number of lifetimes, though .. :)
