Book Review: Gods Behaving Badly
Oct. 11th, 2011 05:21 pmGods Behaving Badly, by Marie Phillips.
It's modern day London. Artemis is a dog walker. Apollo is a TV psychic. Aphrodite answers phone sex calls. It's definitely not their finest moments.
I just read (well, listened to) this book. It was a fun read, with that slightly loony take on things seen in the works of James Boylan and Neal Gaiman. (In several places it reminded me of Good Omens) It was well paced, fun, and had some interesting surprises. And though the Parthenos Partisan in me would have preferred to see Athena as the lead character, it was all handled well. If this style of book is to your taste it's worth checking out.
