CMa Reflections
Apr. 18th, 2005 08:41 pmCMA Beltaine was a blast. I found the secret.
We got there on Wednesday, because I was travelling with merchants. The weather was great, and we found a good spot, though not our preferred one. We're thinking about goinga ahead and paying for a permanent space for our camp. This will also make it easier for people to get me back to camp if we have a set location.
The staff was great. The Gardians were always very helpful, and event he director checked in to make sure that I felt comfortable on the land and was getting around okay and having a good time.
The secret? I totally avoided the operations of the group. I kept away from the area meeting and great works. I am much happier when I let the people who are politically motivated handle the politics. If they do something I find unacceptable, I'll just stop going and vote with my wallet.I no longer am willing to put my soul and heart on the line for a pagan ortganization, as there is too much possibility at this time in the faith to have drama, and I'm over the drama.
So I had a great weekend. Now if I only hadn't stepped off a curb and twisted the unholy fuck out of my ankle today...

Unfortunately
Date: 2005-04-19 03:08 am (UTC)Hell, I'm married to a board member and we have been bounced EVERY event since I went to the land when we bought it, that's five years of moving camp.
Get a large banner. That's what we did. It makes it easier to find yourself. And park near a place that is on the map, if possible.
