Why Nyyki?
Mar. 12th, 2001 03:07 pmFor some odd reason right now, I feel the need to explain this.
Many people around here know me by a different name. And they expected anything I did publicly to be under that name. I have heard that by posting under this name, people thought I was trying to stealth who I was.
Naivete knows no bounds.
First off, I am rather public with my support of androgyny. I firmly believe that the concepts of "man" and "woman" as societal roles are merely masks we wear that were generated a long time ago by warrior tribes in the middle east and are not really applicable today. Anyone who knows me more than as a passing acquaintance would spot that instantly.
Then there is the other details I am rather public about. A s/o with a 13 year old daughter, me being out of work, the fact that I am a musician. The fact that I am a non-Wiccan pagan who is a member of more than one working group. The fact that I even posted a link to my web site in my journal profile.
I wasn't trying to hide anything.
I've noticed that when writing as Nyyki I am more in touch with some things. And I'm less apt to play the Pisces game of trying to always be the diplomat. I need to let the acerbic out sometimes, and just vent. It also allowed me, while I was associated with B&B, to express things that were personal feelings and to some extent divorce myself from the place because Nyyki is not known as a staff member of B&B.
I know there are people out there reading my journal, looking for clues and things to pillorize me with. I can't stop you from doing that, but I truly hope you understand that this is where things are turned up to eleven, and by carrying tales to people, you're part of the problem.
Oh, and I would like to add, for a couple select people, that the s/o reads my journal. This one. Everthing I say here I'm saying in public. Yeah, I'm using a different name, but in the United States, legally you can use any name you damned well please as long as your intent is not to defraud.
Finally, I'll say something I've said before, but bears repeating. If something I say about YOU gets you riled up, then before you climb my tush, ask yourself why that hit a nerve. If something I say about your friend hits a nerve, ask youself why this person cannot defend themself. And if the answer is, "they can," ask yourself why you feel the need to be an attack dog. If the answer is anything else, then it is time to look at the person and find out why, unlike almost every other person in the world, they cannot take care of themself.

Aspects
Date: 2001-03-12 01:57 pm (UTC)And as far as using another name for another aspect of yourself... tell them to get over it. I’m pagan. My gods and goddesses have different names and aspects – AND SO DO I.
