In opera, people die in a far higher amount than in most other literary forms, and far more often than in life.

Earlier in the semester I wound up in the hospital with cellulitis in my left leg. It's still there, and I may very well wind up back in again soon if it doesn't improve. When I got back my teacher was out for a week and a half with medical problems of her own.

A few weeks ago the woman who was giving me a ride went to the hospital with walking pneumonia, then wound up getting transferred down to Dallas due to blood clots in her lungs.

Then, yesterday, while I'm facing a doctor's visit today that may land me in the hospital again, one of the students was unable to sing in studio class because she started going into labor. (She's due June 24th or thereabouts, but the baby's size has balooned in the last week to over 6lbs)

Yeah, the old joke is that the difference between life and opera is that in opera when you get stabbed you sing about it before falling down, but the medical stuff in this fairly small group of people is becoming a bit over the top.

Yikes!

That really is a bit over the top...remember I ended up in the hospital shortly after you with a tumor the size of a tennis ball in my shoulder. Give me a call if you end up in the hospital again and I'll come pay you a visit.
