So, about 9 this morning R shows up to help me with the studio. We got the 46 space rack cabled for both audio and MIDI, and the 13 space rack is cabled too, and both cabled together. I need to locate a missing rodent and the second MIDI interface breakout box for the computer and hook up the speech synthesizer, then plug in the sound card for the computer, and then it's finishing up the keyboard stand stuff that will be the next task. The computer also needs to be patched in, and I'm missing some cables for that, so I need to find them or buy more. I suspect I need to buy some cables anyway, since things are more complex than before. I'll start making a list tomorrow, and probably go to GC next weekend. The studio is probably about 3-4 hours away from being fully functional, assuming I can find the missing stuff quickly.
After R left, I came in to check email and listen to an audio book, Weird U.S., which deals with strange places and haunted places in the United States. Then the new roommate and his new girlfriend showed up. He'd just finished going by the landlord's place to get the application fee in and get on the lease, and they came back and hung out in the backyard. I let Napoleon and the Guardinator out with them and went out to join them a bit later.
That yard has great hang. The patio is a decent size, the yard is huge, (this house was built across two lots) and today was a really cool day. Around seven the young woman who is possibly interested in moving in came by to see the place, and she seemed to like it, but I'm really thinking that first come first serve in this place. I know a lot of people who have expressed an interest in this place. We chatted with her for a while, then A took T back home to her place.
The house is finally getting to a point where it feels good to just hang out here. The place has great vibes, and even with the ghosts here, (who tend not to mess with things too much) the place feels really comfortable and cozy. The whole place has great hang, and we're getting closer to where the move in is done and life can start to sort itself out to some semblence of a normal routine.
On the medical front, my doctor wants me to have a circulation study done, which involves ultrasound to see how well things are moving. He's got me on yet another round of antibiotics, and he said that the circulation study will tell us what the next step is. He didn't rule out another trip to the hospital, though. I'm just hoping it can wait until May so I can take care of it betwen semesters.
Today was a good day. It felt good. I want more days like this one.
