This is probably not what you're expecting me to discuss with a title like that. (I don't buy the "Wiccan Rule of three because it posits an extremely exothermic universe and also violates Newtonian Physics to a high degree without finding support in Einsteinian or Qualtum physics)

Human iteraction seems to follow a set of threefold interaction levels. People need solo practice, small group interacteraction, and membership in a larger community.

For spiritual practice, this is reflected in self study, study group, and congregation or solitary, coven/lodge, and community levels, just to name two different paths as examples. In family groups there's individual identity, immediate family identity, and extended family identity. And for musicians there's soloist, chamber, and large ensemble. This is why i advocate attendance at open jams for popular musicians.
But for some instrumentalists and almost all vocalists chamber isn't an available option. The number of programs on either the high school or college level that have madrigal groups, vocal Jazz ensembles, or other small group settings are very minimal. And this is a loss, because small group, one on a part ensembles teach valuable skills and provide much more independent musical maturity. Vocalists are often viewed as less skilled than instrumentalists, and also there is this feeling that voice skill is something that is innate, not taught, a serious misnomer. Unless someone has vocal or hearing damage, I can teach them to sound good solo or in a group, and if they're dedicated to the pracrtice needed, I can teach them to sound great.
Pianists, Organists, and a few other musicians also don't have chamber as an option, while others don't have the option of large ensembles, like guitar, banjo, bagpipe, accordion, and theremin. This also limits their development.
I know that until someone starts including accordion or bagpipe parts in large ensemble mussic this isn't going to change, so I don't have an answer for this right now. And I accept the logistical issues for pianists, harpsichordists, and organists for ensemble playing. But it's something that could use some attention.

Look and see how your other facets of your life show this pattern. It can be interesting.
