Well, I had to pass on going to CMA Beltaine. It is a shame, as it would have been the s/o's and the kid's first time, and I like Beltaine much more than Samhain, energy wise.

Got the cable cut off today. Bills are becoming a problem. However, there seems to be the glimmer of movement in the job front.

Had a talk with my dad today. Told him that calling up and depressing the hell out of me was not going to help my job search one whit.

Well, hopefully something will break soon. There is too much to get done right now to spend time worrying about finding a job -- I need this pause in my career life over so that I can get back to business.

I'll be missing it as well....

I decided I didn't want to go since the group I was going to go with weren't going to make it, and though I'll still have friends there, almost all of the people I know at CMA are from B&B, and the tensions and hurts are still too new. Without the comfort and support of the group I was to go with, it'd be a very hard weekend, and as part of my new "plan", I'm not going to do things by choice that aren't beneficial to me. I have enough "have to's" in my life, so when I don't "have to" I'm going to enjoy myself.

So I still haven't been to a Beltaine, and I'll decide about Samhain when it gets closer.

"... as part of my new "plan", I'm not going to do things by choice that aren't beneficial to me"

And that is why you are going to get through this. Once you are able to say that and mean it, your entire life can start to change for the better.

I'm sorry both of you won't be at Beltaine, but it sounds like both of you have thought the situation through. Maybe Samhein.

Not sure where I'll be yet, but be sure to drop by at some point and say hey.

And if I can manage to overcome my pitiful land-navigation abilities, I'll do likewise over by wherever y'all are. *g*

speaking of navigational difficulties...

I miss having an "upper field" and a "lower field". It made finding your way home a HELL of a lot easier!!!

I still think they need to outline the bath house in christmas lights, so we can use it as a reference point in the dark.

And yes, I speak from experience -- at Samhein, I spent 45 minutes wandering around in the middle of the night trying to find my goddamned campsite. It SUCKED!!! Thank god I wasn't sober... :)

That was the nice thing about where I was camped - knowing that I just needed to follow the drumming and the light of the revelfire made me a whole lot more able to get back to my tent.

Some of us still refer to "magickal meadow", where the tree grove was planted, where Great Works was, where the bath-house and the toilets are, as "lower field". I imagine that for the next 50 years some people are going to be referring to it as Lower Field and the part on the opposite side of the creek as Upper Field, and at some point, someone's going to ask why, and I wonder if anyone is going to know by then. :)

There is a campsite decorating contest, you are free to decorate your site however you see fit. I'm sure there are guidelines, but offhand I don't know what they are; I can find out if you want...

If you really want to put christmas lights on the bathhouse, may I recommend getting in contact with Gary Park (landmanager@magickal-arts.org), offering to pay for them yourself, and offering to bring a staple gun to put them up?

Worst thing he can tell you is "No".
